Getting Back On The Bicycle

Andy Abere

Andy Abere

Hello Family and Friends,

Yes, that's me on the ground after making too sharp a turn on a bicycle during a tour in Italy. My friend Beth is coming to my aid. The tour guide is not far behind but you will notice he is laughing. (My friend John decided to take a picture rather than help me.) I was OK, and even more important, so was the bicycle.

So, with some help, I got up, got back on the bicycle, and pedaled off on the rest of the tour.

So too, Autism NJ helps me get back up when I face a setback during my journey with my son.

That is why I will be getting back on the bicycle to ride for them in the 2025 Autism NJ “Do-A-Thon” this June.

One day some weekend in June I plan to ride 64 miles, which ties in nicely with the age I will be turning that month. (Let me know if you want to come along. I like company.)

Why do I do this? It is my way of giving back to an organization that has helped my family and countless others for years. They have helped us from the day my son was diagnosed over 30 years ago to the present.

So, please help me help Autism NJ.

Best,
Andy

(Note: The goal of $2500 is in honor of this being the 25th anniversary of the Ride for Autism, which morphed into the Do-A-Thon during the pandemic.)
