Hello family and friends,
April is Autism Awareness Month, and for my Bat Mitzvah Project, I am going to be raising money and participating in Autism New Jersey's first awareness event: The Do-A-Thon, from April 24-May 1, 2020.
Autism is a spectrum disorder which means all individuals with autism are unique from each other. They have different skills, abilities, challenges, and interests. This event is a celebration of what makes us all different. I chose to support Autism because my cousin, Jacob, is autistic. I want to raise money in his honor to give back to an organization that helps provide services to so many impacted people and families.
I will be creating my own “A-Thon” based on my interests. As I prepare for “event day” I will update this page with my progress and challenges and will be looking to family and friends to help keep me motivated and focused, or even to join me.
I know there are some affected by this pandemic more than others. If you can donate, I would greatly appreciate it, if not, please be well and know we will get through this together.
About Autism New Jersey
Funds raised will go to Autism New Jersey, a statewide nonprofit that supports, advocates, and educates the autism community and the professionals who work with them. Like other charities, Autism New Jersey has been financially impacted by COVID-19. Your support will allow them to continue doing the important work they do to make a difference in the lives of the 1 in 32 people with autism in New Jersey.
You can make a secure online donation today by clicking on the “Donate” button. You’ll receive a receipt of your tax-deductible donation via email.
Let’s work together to DO something to support our autism community!
Thank you so much for the support!
