Hello Kinnelon community and colleagues,
I am excited to be offering everyone the opportunity to participate in Autism New Jersey's first awareness event: The Do-A-Thon, from April 24-May 1, 2020. Autism is a spectrum disorder which means all individuals with autism are unique from each other. They have different skills, abilities, challenges, and interests. This event is a celebration of what makes us all different.
I have created “ Do-A-Thon” based on the concept of engaging in activity that I am not proficient in and would feel uncomfortable doing (learning) without support. I am encouraging to you step outside your comfort zone and dance along side of me. The event will take place in the Kiel School Rear Lot on 4/24 from 3:30-4:00. Spots will be marked to ensure social distancing and masks must be worn for the safety of all participants. A minimal donation of $10 for each attendee is suggested. I know there are some affected by this pandemic more than others. If you can donate, I would greatly appreciate it, if not, please be well and know we will get through this together.
About Autism New Jersey
Funds raised will go to Autism New Jersey, a statewide nonprofit that supports, advocates, and educates the autism community and the professionals who work with them. Like other charities, Autism New Jersey has been financially impacted by COVID-19. Your support will allow them to continue doing the important work they do to make difference in the lives of the 1 in 32 people with autism in New Jersey.
You can make a secure online donation today by clicking on the “Donate” button. You’ll receive a receipt of your tax-deductible donation via email. People also be sure to register using our google form so I know how many people to expect.
Let’s work together to DO something to support our autism community!
